DIAGNOSTICS

ECG, Lung/breathing test (spirometry)

CONTRACEPTION

Contraception counselling and services, including Depo Provera injections, Jadelle insertions and copper/Mirena/Jaydess Intra Uterine Device insertions.

CORTICOSTEROID INJECTIONS

After a review with your GP and when indicated, joint and soft tissue injections can be done as treatment of muscle and joint inflammatory reactions.

SKIN CHECKS & LIQUID NITROGEN/CRYOTHERAPY

Skin cancers are the most common form of cancers in New Zealand. We offer skin checks/dermoscopy and treatment including excisions and cryotherapy. Dr. Joyce Wong holds regular Skin Clinics offering a full skin check as well as treatment for suspicious skin lesions.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

Mental health evaluation, screening and counselling services are available in the community. We will assess your needs and offer referral to community mental health services for additional help and support.  Many of these services are free for eligible populations

MINOR SURGERY

We offer minor surgery procedures, including biopsy, excisions, and nail surgery

STOP SMOKING SUPPORT

We offer smoking cessation support, including our free 6 week stop smoking programme.  Smokers who have successfully quit at the completion of the programme receive a voucher worth either $100 or $400 (pregnant women only). Nicotine replacement therapy and behavioural support are incorporated into the programme

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

We offer services to help with weight management, nutrition and exercise for patients and their families. This includes referrals to Bodywise (healthy eating support for tamariki and their whanau), dietitians, and the ÅŒtorohanga pool and gym

PREVENTATIVE SERVICES

Diabetes checks, cardiovascular risk assessment, B4 School Checks, cervical screening, and immunisation/vaccination programmes

TRAVEL CONSULTATION

Travel certificates and travel consultations, including recommendations for vaccinations/immunisations as required. Vaccines can also be ordered and administered for a fee. We recommend consultations 4-6 weeks prior to travel.

EAR HEALTH

Ear suctioning appointments are available. Also, the Wolfe Hearing Services are available for ear cleaning, hearing aide support and advice, and general ear health care. Wolfe Hearing hold monthly clinics at the medical centre (on hold currently).

PESSARY FITTING & PESSARY CHECKS

A vaginal pessary is a plastic device that fits into your vagina to help support your uterus (womb), vagina, bladder or rectum.The pessary is most often used for prolapse of the uterus.  A pessary can also help many women who have urinary stress incontinence.

HOME VISITS

Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the medical centre.  Please call Reception to arrange a home visit.  

PALLIATIVE CARE

Primary palliative care can be provided free for those diagnosed with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. The Palliative Care Programme provides up to 15 free in clinic or home visits to support end of life care for you and your family.  Please speak to your doctor about this service.
